About
A studio, not a factory.
An AI product studio. We design, build and look after our own mobile apps. A small number of them, made properly. We are not an agency, and we are not in a hurry.
Why we exist
Most software is built to be shipped; very little is built to be kept. AI made it easier than ever to generate software, and rarer than ever to craft it. That gap is the opportunity we build for.
The intelligence does the heavy lifting; people do the deciding: what deserves to exist, how it should feel, which details matter.
How it started
With one product we wanted to exist. Standing in a room, trying to imagine it different, and wondering why that still took imagination instead of a photograph. Deqolo became the answer, and the answer became a company.
What we believe
Useful before impressive.
We start from a real problem. If it doesn't earn a place on your home screen, we don't ship it.
Crafted, not generated.
The intelligence is meant to be invisible: you should notice the result, not the machinery.
Built to be lived with.
We'd rather tend a small garden than plant a large one and leave.
Build fewer things.
Small on purpose is a strategy, not a stage.
Design for years, not weeks.
Trends age in months; usefulness doesn't.
Quality compounds.
Care is the only feature that gets more valuable every release.
How products get made
Listen, shape, build, tend. Start with the problem; prototype until the idea earns its form; build by hand; then maintain what we ship, for as long as people use it. The changelog is the receipt.
Where this is going
Slowly, on purpose. A small family of apps rather than a portfolio, each one kept for years. Deqolo is the first; more are taking shape in the journal.
